MIS Courses: MIS 320

We recently started our final project for MIS 320. Last week, our first deliverables (an ERD and a product map), were due. This week, our second deliverables (wireframes and initial test scripts), will be due. The final result will end up being drastic updates to the websites we have been building as homework assignments over the course of the semester, using all the techniques, frameworks, and languages we have been learning. The improved website will be able to perform customer orders for building supplies and housing projects and have employees be able to update the status of said orders to shipped. Customers will be able to create an account, log in, set up a Cart, checkout and track order status, all using a database provided by Andrew.

In addition to our project work, we are also have recently begun to learn about the MVC4 framework. We haven’t delved much into it yet, but we will be building upon it as we work on our project. Ultimately, we will be using MVC to build components for the final project. In the meantime, we have watched examples of how to run and work with MVC, and also we were assigned another homework assignment to practice using the MVC framework. This homework will have us building a basic ASP.NET MVC 4 web application.
