Relay For Life

Relay For Life is an event hosted by the American Cancer Society to raise awareness and funds in the fight against cancer. Relay For Life movement features events that offer an opportunity to honor the cancer survivors in your life, promote how you can reduce your cancer risk, and raise money to help find a cure. A survivors lap, Luminary ceremony and a Fight Back ceremony are held during the event for all attendees. The event will consist of teams of people camping out around the University’s track field, and members of each team will take turns walking around the track. The money raised from Relay For Life will go to cancer research and programs such as “The Road to Recovery”. The Information Technology Society, Veterans in Business, and ToastMasters are partnering together to promote a UA MIS team for this event.

Registration is online and anyone can join the team for $10. We will set up games and have food available for anyone that joins the team or wants to come out and support the cause. Relay For Life will take place on Friday, April 24th 8:00 pm- 6:00 am at Sam Bailey Track & Field – Next to the Coliseum. With the support of thousands of student volunteers, the American Cancer Society is helping save more than 400 lives a day. And they won’t stop until they end cancer once and for all! Come help finish the fight!
