We had our second test in MIS 340 last week. That test included information on LANs and introductory information on the internet stack. We really focused on the application and transport layers for this test.
This week we went into greater detail about the network layer. We discussed the two primary functions of the network layer: addressing and routing. Specifically, in regards to addressing, we discussed IPv4 versus IPv6 and how private IP addresses are used with proxy servers. In regards to routing, we discussed decentralized routing, which the internet uses.
We have our third test next week, so wish us luck!
