MIS Courses: MIS 340

On Thursday we had our first test in MIS 340. This test included all the information we had studied for the first six weeks of class. After concluding this test we are now moving on to studying the more technical details of data communication.

Our next topic of discussion is networking between computers locally and remotely. The hardware component designed to do this networking is called the network interface card (NIC). This piece of hardware converts data into in electrical signal before it is transmitted out of the computer. The NIC is connected to a hub or switch which helps transmit the signal to the recipient computer.

We look forward to learning more about networking over the next few weeks.
