In MIS 320, we just started to learn about “software componentization”. Following up last week’s ending to the jQuery Lecture and the very welcome Fall Break, we are now starting to go in-depth into coding .DLL files and APIs for use with projects. We haven’t had much practice with it yet, outside of our knowledge of C#, but we’re getting there. Ham, our teaching assistant, presented a great short example (using lemonade stands) on the topic today in class, after a good lecture by Andrew, the professor.
We also just recently finished up our 3rd website iteration assignment for “Crazy Andrew’s House of Houses”, and we will be given Assignment 4 this week. Assignment 4 will entail us writing our own API, based on the specifications given by Andrew, and the .DLLs to go with it. We will be practicing how to do this within the next week.
