UA’s MIS department hosted another Open House on Thursday, March 22nd in the AIME building. Intended for students who are considering the major, the event began with a presentation given by Dr. David Hale and Dr. Joanna Hale that described the steadily increasing potential and influence of IT in the business world and the growing need for people with IT skills. Some of the staff members and Ambassadors in attendance spoke briefly about their reasons for becoming part of the program and described some of their experiences with the program so far.
To give prospective students a better idea of the kind of work that students within the program do, they were taken on tours around the AIME facilities and introduced to some of the Capstone teams. The Capstone students gave poster presentations on their team’s project and answered questions about the program, faculty, and courses.
Hopefully the Open Houses will help the MIS program to continue recruiting the best students this university has to offer.
